Overview / Mentoring / Mission, Principles / Results At the end of the 2004-5 school year, Powerful Buddies mentors, students, and teachers evaluated their progress or the progress of their students. Here are the results: - 50% of teachers reported students had improved in two or more assessment areas.
- 80% of teachers reported students had improved in at least one area.
- 85% of volunteers reported students had improved in two or more assessment areas.
- 95% of students reported improvement in two or more assessment areas.
"At the beginning of the year, Lawrence and I sat down and created goals, both academic and social (i.e., improving writing, reading completing work in a timely fashion, and appropriate interactions with others). Yes Lawrence did make progress! Several staff members have commented on his improved behavior, and his teacher has raved about his improved writing skills."
