Powerful Schools is a nationally recognized non-profit based in Southeast Seattle that aspires to promote student success in some of the city’s academically and economically challenged public elementary schools. 


Powerful Schools works inside its ten partner schools every day providing resources such as skilled reading tutors, staff development teams, writing and arts curriculum and extended day programs. 

In the 2007-8 school year, Powerful Schools serves 3,515 students in ten public elementary schools in Southeast Seattle.
