Powerful Writers staff believe that if students are encouraged to write about things they know (and are expert in), they will learn to love writing.  The following book about how to sing was written and illustrated by Rebecca Ann Chung, 2nd grade, the New School.

I dedicate this book to my family for believeing I can be the best singer.

3sing

Are you tired? Do you want to excersise your voice? If you read my book you'll be inspired...

4sing

What you need: radio, paper, pencil, piano, gautar, water bottle, friends, audience, miker-phone, and YOURSELF!

5sing

First write down lyrics. Don't worry if you don't know what to write about because you can get a idea from anywere.  You can even express yourself by writing about your feelings or your can write about something new.  Your lyrics can be about a special time in your life too.

6sing

Then sing it to make sure it makes sence.  Because sometimes people don't understand what you say in  your song.  Like when I made a song called "I wish".  I sang it but I kept messing up.

7sing

Next ask some of your friends to be in your band if you want to be a single person band then skip this step.

8sing

Now make sure they know how to play different entrerments.  But if you want some same entrerments in your band then skip this step too.

9sing

After that pracktis because your band may not know your song or they will know your song but they may not play it well.

10sing

Finally perform if you don't have an audience just permform for your family or some friends.
